REE are used in many applications and products all over the world. The global mine REE production volume rose significantly during the last 20 years and the global market is expected to grow at a 9.1% CAGR until 2030 to reach USD15,473 Million.Among the global volume of REE used in the world, China has a monopoly with 60% of REE produced and 85% of REE refined.European Union must react to be self-sufficient by investing in innovative technologies of separation of REE.In 2020, 29,4% of the REE are used in magnets, the global market for REE in magnets is expected to grow at CAGR of 6,1% over 2022-2027. As a consequence the recycling of magnets is an additional way towards the European REE independancy.
